ASPECT

For twelve years now Aspect has been an active DJ and turntablist
now. In 1999 he began DJing with all ist aspects – scratching, juggling
and whatever defines the fine art of turntablism. The world famous ITF
Championships already influenced his way back then.
2001 he has founded the Scrape Tacticians together with D-Stale and
took part in local DJ battles in 2003 for the first time. In 2004 Jugg-
leberry Spin and Mr. Vince became crew members. In the same year
they already were among the first runners in solo but in team disciples
at the ITF Championships. His breakthrough was definitely the year
2005 – he won the German and the European ITF Championships in
Prague with the Scrape Tacticians. Since 2008 he has been member of
the Deckpackers being on the road all over Europe.

THE DECKPACKERS

The Munic based DJ-crew was officially founded in 2008, after they had won
the German Team Championships in DJing. The team’s strengths lie especially
in their musicality, the high technical level and their professionalism in what
they do. Those hard skills combined with the passion for music make them to
what they are: “...the first team I’ve seen in a while whose DJ sets aren’t mes-
sy or overdone in any part. They are totally listenable, really enjoyable with
a strong display of skills. The kind of stuff that used to make DJ battles dope,”
says Laurent Fintoni from Turntable Radio – the world’s only radio show de-
dicated to scratching and turntablism. With this perfect mix of skills and sense
for music the Deckpackers fascinate a broad range of people not only in the
turntablism scene but also in the club scene.
The two times Vice World Champions (2008 / 2009 Warsaw, Krakow) are
internationally highly respected in the turntablism scene, not only because of
their titles, but also for their creativity, which they proved with their showcases
in several competitions. Having been packed with extraordinary own produc-
tions and remxixes and additionally being technically on an extremely high
level they made a lasting impression not only on the judges but especially on
the audience.

Battle DJing though is only one part of each of the crew member’s activities -
they also produce, compose and teach what they love most - music.
