About

Independent Artist / Guitarist.

Ashley Bachelier is a guitarist from Adelaide, South Australia. After picking up the guitar at fourteen years of age, it was soon apparent to Ashley that this was an instrument of fascination and vast expression. He vividly remembers watching live musicians at a young and impressionable age, and being blown away by what he had seen, and has had a love for the instrument ever since.

In June 2006 Ashley formed a cover band, Strange World. Soon after launching Strange World, he joined and began performing live with the original punk rock band, Tidal Jive. It was then that Ashley began touring the two bands around Adelaide's live circuit.

In early 2011, Ashley joined original rock band, Way Street. After recording the band's second EP, he moved on to pursue other musical interests, including his own solo instrumental guitar-based music. Ashley's compositions are well structured, elaborate, technical, soothingly melodic and cutting edge. A personal favourite of mine is "French Kisses". His solo work has seen him team up with another exceptionally talented songwriter from the UK, Ewen Allardyce. The two have worked together producing two great tracks thus far, "House of Cards" and "Heaven and Hell". His time and dedication towards his passion has earned him much respect amongst his peers and other fellow musicians. Ashley's love for the guitar also led him to working with Steve Salvi of Salvi’s Fine Guitars, restoring and refinishing vintage guitars, including Steve Salvi’s own branded new instruments. He has also finished guitars for Adelaide Hills luthier, Bryan De Gruchy.

Ashley has also finished and customized his personal guitars over the years. In February 2012, after hearing a demo recording of Ember Rush, Ashley joined the band as their lead guitarist. Ember Rush has been regularly performing at various venues and the band is continuing to write new material. This has not seen Ashley stop pursuing his solo work and building his own career. To this day, he continues to manufacture and write great compositions such as "Decaffeinated Rainbow", "Shades of Grey" and a new composition, "Mildred's Prestigious Gravy Boat".

Strange World, the band he formed in 2006, decided to call it a day in September 2012 but news has broken that the band will be performing three final shows: 2nd August at the Brahma Hotel, 3rd August at the Emu Hotel and 4th August at the First Commercial Inn. Get on down and check out talented guitarist, Ashley Bachelier, and check out original band, Ember Rush, touring around Adelaide.

We, here at RippleHive, would like to thank Ashley Bachelier for his remarkable contribution to music and look forward to hearing more of his great work.
