Melbourne’s DJ Ash Lee has been accused of a great many things in close to 15 years manning the wheels of, erm, well they used to be steel but they’re more kinda plasticky now, yeah?

His glory box is filled with all manner of sugar and spice.

But in the words of the great jock’s proud mum (and biggest fan)…

Throw in support slots for Deadmau5, Derrick Carter, Rico Tubbs, Anthony Pappa, D Ramirez, Deekline, Chris Fortier, Audio Jack, Magik Johnson, Jamie Liddell, Ali B, Kid Dub, Kompakt Records blah blah blah – you get the gist. He’s been rockin’ it for way longer than your average.

Club wise Ash has held down residencies and regular guest spots at all the clubs you can’t get into: Lucky Coq, Revolver, Honkytonks, Mixed Messages, After the Bell, TFU and a bazillion more.
Larger parties rocked include Future Music Festival, Kiss My Grass, Good Vibes After Party (with Q-Tip and P-Money giving due props as he threw down a killer hip-hop/funk set), Notting Hill Carnival (UK), Dirty Dozen, and way more than your mum should know you’ve been out spending your pocket money at.

Genres you ask? Ash smashes ‘em. Want a party funk/disco/ boogie set to get your dance on? Too easy. How about a jackin’ house vibe to warm up the crowd? C’mon now, is that all you got? Peak time, vocal tech-house? Or how about a slammin' tech/electro infused set? Or deep techno? Cosmic-disco? Old school hip-hop? Low slung rockabilly rave? How about all of this in the one set?! Yep, he’s got it covered.

Somehow amongst all this party rockin’ Ash has fit in duties as radio host on both Street FM and Kiss FM. Plus, with a lifetime of music knowledge at his disposal he has lent his writing skills to leading dance music magazines and websites, interviewing touring artists, writing over-opinionated features, and critiquing new release albums. Don’t ask how he squeezes so much in.

Still not impressed? Well you would be if you knew that on top of all of this, Ash has built a solid rep as one of Melbourne’s most in-demand corporate event DJs, with clients such as NAB, Vodafone, Mooks, Stussy, Mossimo, Heinz, Paul Frank, Cambridge Fashion House, Trimapee, AG, Dhini, White Suede, Melbourne Fashion week and more.

So yeah, Ash’s resume is stacked with goodness. And with his original productions and remixes slated for release on some shit-hot labels in 2012, he’s only just beginning.
