About
Blackstock combines precision-cut techno grooves with intricate sounds and subtle basslines, bringing 'sexy minimal' to the dance music soundscape.
After a series of transformative stretches in Berlin spent honing his take on the German minimal tradition, Blackstock founded the monthly San Francisco underground Less Is More in early 2012 with co-resident Ian Ward Comfort, where he began importing the Berlin sound to the Bay Area.
Seattle born and San Francisco based, Blackstock's fascination with rhythm was fueled from a young age by his father’s eclectic musicianship. His exposure to the Tahitian drums, Japanese taiko, and classical violin led him to dance music, where he remains focused on the texture and rhythmic constructions in deep house and minimal techno.
