As the winds of Halloween begin to resonate, Reverberations makes its return from a much-needed yet momentary slumber with this sanguine celebration of all things fanged, by label honcho Asad Rizvi.
Early critics have analysed ‘Sheenwolf’ as a study of the primal wrath that lurks deep within the human condition, underpinning the ceaseless tug-of-war between nature and spirit. Rizvi, however is adamant of such interpretation: “you can put that way,” he contends, “or it’s just a bit of house music with some wolf noises in it.” Either way, dance-floors over the late Summer have been howling with joy to early masters of the aforementioned, and it would seem that lupine loopiness would be a trend to be continued for the latter half of 2010. And in no insignificant measures is the single complimented with the sublime “Me Tangere” (pron. may tangeray). Offering a more amorous alternative to the famed Latin expression, this little number has one foot firmly rooted in the old school, with toes from the other tinkering with the contemporary.
Known for a consistently busy DJ schedule worldwide and releases on a multitude labels - including Om, Global Underground, King Street, The End, Wall of Sound, Loveslap!, Tango, Urbantorque and a stupifying number more – Asad Rizvi has a string of new releases standing by, as well as a mixed compilation entitled ‘Are You Homemade?’ due out in coming weeks.
