    Sparrow and the Workshop
This Glaswegian-based trio – made up of Scottish, Welsh and Irish blood – played an infamous US tour with the Brian Jonestown Massacre in 2010, by invitation of Mr Anton Newcombe himself. This was followed by another support slot for legendary punk folksters The Pogues. As the story goes Newcombe contacted the band after seeing their video for ‘Devil Song’ from their 2009 debut ‘Crystals Fall’ – an album he went on to play at a Berlin dinner party to The Pogues’ Spider Stacy. “I can’t even imagine what that dinner was like. Who was cooking?” posits Nick Packer guitarist, bassist, and Welshman. Neither can we, but we’d like an invite next time!
