Aroop Roy is an artist and producer of many dimensions.
His music is the product of a vast array of musical influences and 10 years experience as an international DJ and musician. The album blends together the organic sounds of jazz, afro, funk and soul with the deep and sometimes dark electronic edge of house, techno and hip hop in a unique and original way that will appeal to both a wide range of music lovers and club DJs.
Aroop's eclectic work as a producer has been supported worldwide by numerous tastemakers including Gilles Peterson, Bugz In The Attic , Kyoto Jazz Massive, Patrick Forge and Laurent Garnier.
In 2009, his compilation “absolute!!:Sounds From Tokyo” was released worldwide to critical acclaim and he was invited to do a guest mix on Gilles Peterson's legendary Worldwide radio show.
In 2006, he was selected to take part in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy where he had the chance to work with amongst others, legendary Motown producers the Mizell Brothers.
