A memorable morning on Amsterdam's longest running clubnight in one of the city's most outstanding clubs. Welcome To The Future started in 1993. Since then, promoter and Dutch house guru Gert van Veen has consistently booked the most cutting-edge house and techno. For their sixteenth anniversary I played the afterhours in the backroom of Studio 80.

Everything was right that night: the crowd, the music, the atmosphere. It was the type of setting where I could play anything that came to mind - from French filterhouse to German techno and from British deephouse to Chicago acid house. From six to ten I was able to take us all on a musical journey that left everyone - including myself - with a big grin on our faces.

Unfortunately, the first one and a half hour were lost. The recording starts off with some chunky house tunes by the likes of Romanthony, Steve Bug, Dimitri From Paris and Masters At Work, moving into some dirtier grooves by Chicken Lips, Cajmere and Le Clic. It picks up pace and intensity towards the end with some old Grooveyard and Green Velvet type techno tracks, topping it off with - who else - Laurent Garnier.
