Heavily influenced by Western R'n'B, the Megri brothers started out as "The Average Wahid Band" with a nice line in Boz Scaggs covers. Mahmoud Megri's lyrics were originally influenced by the mysticism of Omar Khayyam, but over time he became obsessed by the paperbacks discarded by Marrakesh tourists. In particular, the earthly pleasures of Jackie Collins' prose began to resonate. Waqtach Tef'hem tells the story of an athletic young waiter who beguiles the female passengers on a Mediterranean cruise ship.
