Paul Devro is the creative director/artist for tastemaker Diplo’s record label Mad Decent. He’s shared billing with Crookers, Justice, Chromeo, Diplo, Fake Blood and A-Trak, to name a few. Devro has a niche for breaking new genres of dance music, which is evident when listening to his highly praised mixtapes for the likes of Dazed, The Fader and XlR8.

With Pineapples for Pinnipeds, I tried to piece together a mix for Aritzia of all the latest vocal moombahton songs that are high in energy without veering too far into rave territory. In my opinion, this is a good example of where moombahton pop is heading: keeping an urban feel, but taming the redundant high pitch sin wave synthesis. – Paul Devro
