About
Ariston is my current project name. I've been making music for a long time, aside from my regular job, which entails talking with people to make them feel better (it's a lot more fun and rewarding than it sounds). I see myself as a composer first, a musician second, and a producer a distant third. I'm working on electronic music in its widest sense, encompassing ambient, cinematic, DnB and Dubstep, some House, IDM, glitch and other genres. Strange thing is, I hardly listen to (or usually like) electronic music at all; most of my influences are found in rock, classical and jazz. Electronic music I do like: Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, Apparat, Modeselektor, Brian Eno, Scuba, Burial and Biosphere. In my own music, I try to strike a balance between my experimental, off-the-wall side and my well-developed pop sensibility, making music that's hopefully both challenging and still listenable.
