ARE P2PK have been in and out of the Music scene since the early 80's with Rikki Sylvan of RIKKI AND THE LAST DAYS ON EARTH fame. EQUUS IN NIGHTFALL was a studio project that the record labels at the time thought too weird to market and they wanted to change the way they looked and bring in an outside Producer. NO WAY was that going to happen so they decided not sign the deal. Why sign a Band for the way they play and look then spend thousands changing it all? They played a few gigs but were more interested in the music not the image/fame game. Rikki had other commitments with Gary Numan and then with IRS Records, so the project was folded and archived 6 tracks from this project but the quality of the Masters is not that good as was Recoded to 1/2 " tape that don't age well.
Rikki & ARE re-worked Gary's "Down in the Park" in 1983 in a pre- Industrial_Techno track which was re-recorded in 1986 from the sessions they did together after Rikki commitments at the end of "PLEASURE PRINCIPLE" LP, it had sat on the shelf in Rikki IRS basement Studio in Kensington, London till it's rediscovery in early 1986 in his new Studio in Hammersmith, London called Faderway Studios.
The other Recording that he and Rikki and AREP2PK were to release got mis-placed for a few years when the Studio moved down to Brighton. AREP2PK lost all interest in these tracks because Rikki Sylvan has since died in the early 90's, They haveAREP@P found it hard to listen to the Session Masters.
Since then AREP2PK have toured with various other bands got into TV/Film work in many guises. STRANGE CHARM was formed in 1994 to 1996 with AREP2PK and Richard (JurrasiK) Lockett.This was another studio based project with a few live outings with various musicians but other commitments meant it never really got off the block. The idea is to rescue some of these tracks for a Trance Opera LP with IOLANDO CHISHOLM on Vocals (Alto soprano) & DJ Kiama a Dutch/ Russian Trance DJ - Remixer based in Amsterdam. AREP2P has already remoulded BURNING SKIES to fit the TRANCE OPERA project. P2P Kollektieven is already working on them so they should be out by March/April next year with live dates on the Euro Trance Fest' 2012/13. P2P KOLLEKTIVIEN was formed in AMSTERDAM in 2002 with Dutch/Russian DJ Alex Mohin & AREP2P. Alex brought in Iolando Chisholm on a few live outing at various Trance Festivals in Germany/Russia and the Netherlands. Iolando Chisholm is a professionally trained Opera singer.(By Anton Dexter.)
