Architecture Recordings continues to scan the globe to rope in the freshest talent they can find from across the Drum & Bass scene. Enter new signee's Volatile Cycle. Dan Lawrence and Jimmy Chick joined forces in the studio in 2011 and have been experimenting with a variety of styles and tempos before landing on DJ Ink's storied imprint with this debut ep.
The duo drop four cuts of rolling, meticulous funk ranging in emotion from uplifting and blissful to menacing and militant. All tracks feature crisp yet rugged drum tracks and floor shaking, sound system informed Jungle bass lines. From the late night drift away of "Blame", The sublime sleazy groove of "Horizon" to the screw face side step of "Fade" or the gun finger skank of "Lock Down", Volatile Cycle cover the full circumference of Drum & Bass effortlessly. Their versatility is a testament to their talent and passion for the long standing tradition of the music, making them names to watch closely as their career unfolds.
