os” is a new EP by Barcelona-based combo Appledog, containing 5 songs in a completely acoustic setting. These songs were recorded during the same recording sessions for the first LP of the band, "1" (September, 2009) and it has been waiting since then to be released. The album will be released on December, 13th, 2010 in digital format only
through most important digital resellers.

The songs of "os" (catalan for bone), use dates for titles, like a personal diary, showing us the most intimate side of Appledog, away from the electroacoustic artifices on their previous record, and trying to get deeper into the core, right to the bones. All five tracks play almost in a row, perfectly merged, like a 15-minute suite, combining two instrumental tracks and three vocal tracks, with the lyrics switching from Catalan to Spanish and English, with a strong presence of the string quartet members on the band, taking the lead role on this issue. All musicians play intermittently in the arrangements, giving a special treatment on dynamics, starting with a very empty sound pallette, that builds up in the middle section of the EP and then goes back to a very stripped-down setting near the end. And all of that without a single sampler, without much complexity on production, without many overdubs, nor anything requiring electricity, with just two exceptions: there is an electric bass on one track, and the sound of an electric fan on another track.
