Born in the city of Leeds, Anthony Raphael Collins has been listening to music since the early 70's and buying music since the late 70's. After an attempt at a few basic 'pause/record' edits in 83, he was inspired to learn the art of mixing records. In '88 he took the name DJ Anton and began playing in clubs and bars and with the acid house/rave scene that followed, he even found himself DJing in the occasional cave and field. Recent years have seen him guesting at various clubs and bars in and around his home town such as; Basics, Speed Queen, Rock Bar and Norman, with a current residency at SoBe Bar, Leeds.

Influenced by 70's and 80's soul/funk, disco, pop, electro, hip hop and reggae, along with the early underground house music scene, he has an eclectic taste which is reflected in many of his sets. ‘Creativity is the key and my aim is always to produce a memorable mix with plenty of surprises’.

Anton can be found rockin' his eclectic style in the call lane area of Leeds... catch him in the mix every weekend at the South Beach inspired 'SoBe Bar' (located in Hirsts Yard, off Call lane).

REMIX - BLENDS - EDITS
After years of playing music and indeed playing other DJ's and producers remix and edit work, Anton thought it was about time he made a start on getting out a number of ideas he's had locked away as well as a few collaborations he's done over the last few years.

UNPLUG THE JUKEBOX - or UTJ for short, is the name under which Anton produces his remix/blend/edit work. The tongue in cheek name, taken from a line in one of his musical heroes (Adam Ant) songs is purely for use as a form of self indulgence and amusement, providing Anton with an alter ego and avenue for channeling his creative energies. This is also the name he uses when collaborating with other DJ and producers.
