NINETEEN NINETY FOREVER

Every other Summer my Grandfather would take me over to the East Coast to visit family. I would record over my cousin's Cure tapes with just about everything I heard on NY radio. I would tape Bobbito and Stretch Armstrong shows and I remember hearing them drop Apache. This song blew my mind. I loved that song and constantly played it on the ride back home to LA. Taking these dubbed cassettes meant the world to me. It was as if I was bringing a piece of one coast with me to another. This is a homage to an era where beats and rhymes complimented one another. This was an era where emcee's actually rhymed and beats were crafted with care and love. I hope you appreciate this mix as much as I enjoyed creating it on two turntables.
