ANTHONY MUIRHEAD (Serialism, Beef Records, Deep House Movement)

Coming from the southern tip of the pacific ring of fire, New Zealand but with 10 years of experience in European music hotspots such as Berlin, London and Barcelona, Anthony Muirhead has steadily progressed on a musical journey which he began many years ago and has been nurtured into its current electronic form. Fluent in guitar, keyboard and bongo drums, although preferriing to take his music to machine and computer, his knowledge of both music modern and classic is vast.

Experimenting with rock and hip hop through the 90s before resting on his now well-developed deep house and techno sound, adding hints of pop and funk flavoured grooves and a sprinkling of dark and dubby sounds. Predominantly making and playing house music of some description, he has been seen alongside other internationals such as Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus, Ekkohaus, Cesare vs Disorder, Mic Newman, Dyed Soundorom, Giles Smith and many many more. He has held residencies and club nights over many countries including England, Germany, Spain, France, Holland, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Clubs such as T-Bar, Cafe 1001, Cargo, Macarena, BeCool, CityHall, Jesusclub/Maria, MIKZ and Cliq are just some of the wide variety of venue visited by this talented producer/DJ.

Recently signing to London-based Serialism Records and ´That Time Again´ on Beef Records featuring on traxsource essential deep house top 20 (november 2011), and with forthcoming releases on several other labels there is a lot to come in the not so distant future.
Always focused on the crowd and the task at hand, Anthony´s DJ and mixing skills are highly tuned to the dancefloor and the requirements of the crowd without ever jeopardisng his own flavour and tastes. With a slightly obsessive tendency for music with groove and soul, dancefloors are always left with a sweetly satisfying taste in their mouth and an infectious incling for more.
