Tres Gueros are three white Brooklynites led by the amorphous producer Sleazy McQueen. The collaboration as a whole has been a few years in the making with two vocalists (Graham Holly and Gracie Fowler), two guitar players (Ray Sweeton and Hugo Swaso), and an additional writer/producer (Matt Borwnell) joining Sleazy. And if that wasn’t enough, the full set is completed by Beef Wellington who provides some additional synthesiser work.
A vast array of quality remixers take things in a range of directions. First up is nu-disco guru Anthony Mansfield who is responsible for the Hector Works label along with partner-in-crime Nick Chacona. Canadian Neighbour adds his signature disco-house sound fresh from releases on Lost My Dog, Kolour and Home Breakin’. Dave Allison has been picking up the plaudits of late with music for Warmth, Meltin Funk and his own Kinjo Music label and here provides 2 versions of mid-tempo funked up goodness. Leon Louder picks up the pace with a low slung gritty mix and Sleazy McQueen (SMQ) chunks things up with a big room dub
Release/catalogue number: HTR008
