One of the first songs I wrote back in 2012, all done by me and my guitars with garageband. Probably one of my favourite ones so far. A big thanks to Vicky Lee for helping me to translate the lyrics into Chinese for reference and possibly a future Chinese version of the song!

    =====

    Lyrics, music, vocals: Anthony Cheung
Chinese translation of the lyrics (for reference): Vicky Lee (Newcastle upon Tyne, England)

And you are the one who unlocked the doors,
    And broke down the boundaries,
    Inhibitions from life before,
    Blown away in the breeze.

But something that was not intended remained,
Remained there unchallenged causing the change,
    Change in direction,
    An opposing reaction.

    Echoes of the life,
    The life before,
    Ring gently in the wind,
But its getting stronger and stronger,
    Where do I begin?

    The fallen pieces they’ve,
    They’ve all washed to shore,
    From the waves crashing in,
    They are crashing and crashing,
    The life before.

    But don’t despair,
    No don’t despair,
    Just go on there,
    I promise you,
    I’ll meet you there,
    I’ll meet you there.

I need to salvage what I can,
    And mend the broken pieces,
    But I wanna go back,
    To where it all began,
    To relive the moments,
The releases of emotions of elation,
    A celebration of the memories,
    Still here with me,
    But will now stay locked,
    And blocked to protect,
From the shock to the system,
Don’t you wish that life was just simpler,
    But it’s apparently not,
    It’s apparently not.

    But I won’t despair,
    Cos I’ll meet you there,
    Stay on track,
    Don’t hold back,
    And I’ll meet you there.

But the echoes of my life,
    My life before,
    Still drifting in the wind,
    It’s getting stronger and stronger,
    Where do I begin?
    The fallen pieces they’ve,
    They’ve all washed to shore,
    From the waves crashing in,
    They are crashing and crashing,
    My life before.
    Maybe you’re almost almost there,
    Maybe you need,
    Just a little more time,
    But you’re almost there.

    I will get there soon,
    Just leave some room,
    Cos I’ll get there soon.

    All I need,
    Just a little more time,
    A little more time.

Anthony Cheung
