About

Ever since he could decide for himself what was good, Michel Stallings a.k.a Antares has had an intense love affair with music. He started his journey into music playing bass guitar under the influence of Seattle's grunge sound, and eventually picked up drums and come to love all kinds of music from Phish to Tool...then he was introduced to dance music, specifically drum & bass. He immersed himself in all things electronic and, thanks in part to the internet, began exploring the full spectrum of dance music. He finally bought a pair of turntables in 2000 and began spinning Drum & Bass. He later expanded his tracklists to include house music, and his most recent infatuation, dubstep. After moving to Chattanooga in 2003, he joined ranks with Chattanooga's seminal Illicit Sound System and later became a part of the SRF Crew (Scenic Rhythm Foundation.)
Having played all over the southeast alongside such names as Gridlok, Mayhem, Infiltrata/12th Planet, DJ Odi, Terravita and Danny the Wildchild, Antares has solidified himself as a DJs DJ, known for his upfront track selection, and fluid, seamless mixes. He has held residency at multiple monthlies and weekly events, including Chattanooga's first all-dubstep night "Bassheads," the raging dubstep/electro night "Swagga" and most recently the Local Legends/Bass Love nights at Raw. Though he initially made his name as the premier liquid funk drum & bass DJ in town, his sets can range from deep, dubby dubstep to dark, driving neurofunk, depending on the time and the crowd.
