Biography

Anouck was born in Rennes France where her parents decided to move to London to proceed on other ventures. She grew up with a Lao/ French culture and also speaks French. Growing up in the Thai catering industry Anouck found herself working in the kitchen, in the restaurant and behind the bar. During her time there she was asked to enter the Miss Asia Paris 2006/7 competition and won.

Anouck has always loved singing since a very early age- singing in school choirs at Rams Episcopal Primary School in Hackney along with writing hooks and melodies for budding MC's in high school. Having crafted her gift, she is ready to show the world which has lead for Anouck to be working with various artists and producers to whom have allowed her to use the emotion and soulfulness in her voice to full effect.

In addition she has also written for other up and coming artists in the UK. Currently Anouck is working on her debut EP and Album which will launch next year. Producers working on the record go by Jony Rockstar (Sugababes & Amy Winehouse) and French pianist Jean Phillippe Rio-py.

The first offering from Anouck was her eagerly awaited single “Any other way” released October 28th, 2012 on iTunes and other music stores. The current single is receiving support from BBC1xtra, and Choice FM.

Description

Singer-songwriter Anouck released her stunning debut single “Any Other Way” on 28 October. Born in France and raised in east London with Lao roots, Anouck fuses alternative soul and pop into a kaleidoscope of warm mid-tempo melodies in her debut. “Any Other Way” holds special meaning to the singer-songwriter, who confesses the song is very close to her heart.

“I wanted to make a song that was personal but also relatable. It’s a little to do with your own attitude towards life and what cards you’ve been dealt – but I guess the higher the mountain, the better the satisfaction! I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she says.
“Any Other Way” was written by Anouck and produced by Reiss Nicholas, who has produced for the likes of R&B/soul singer Bluey Robinson and British female rapper Baby Blue. The debut single is accompanied by a music video directed by Jay Cass of Ovs Media. The singer gives a stripped-back performance in the video making it even more powerful to convey the message of overcoming personal setbacks and obstacles.
Anouck is currently working on her album, scheduled for release in 2013. “Any Other Way” is the first dose to kick-start the exciting project. Look out for new material over the coming months.
