Words, notes, music… it’s all an expression of one’s internal desires, cravings and battles.
We all are a product of our everyday experiences; however, lately we pay more attention to the material and pragmatic reality than to what is happening inside, in our very souls, what is lurking in the darkest parts of our minds.
I needed a way out. I needed something that would take all of my conscious and subconscious fears and desires and drag them out thus making me happier. Now, this is a different way of saying: “Music is my anti-stress medicine”, which sounds a bit cliché but is also true.
I make music at home, in my band’s studio (Wartime’s studio Warzone) but where I really make all my music is inside of me. Since I was a kid with no idea of notes, harmonies etc. I was attracted by musical instruments and the melody they produce. These sounds were magical and used to transfer me to a different place, in which I was alone but happy.
Now many years later, I still can’t play the guitar and sing the way I would like to, but the music inside me is stronger than ever. I listen to it, I eat with it and I sleep with it (among other things).
My tracks are influenced by the music I listen to on the radio, in my car and on my MP3 player, but the final touches are produced by the undying melody playing constantly in my mind.
You will find many influences in my tracks: from Alice in Chains and Tool to Moonspell, My Dying Bride and Opeth. I do not deny that these bands take me to the same place of relaxing solitude that I mentioned before. I will be proud and happy if I can bring someone else there with my music.
The recordings are early demos. I do these at home with cheap and unpretentious equipment but with a lot of passion. I hope that soon I will record my material in a studio and will release a proper album.
I have found musicians with years of experience that will add new ideas to my songs and will give the compositions more complete and professional sound. These people are: Stanislav Stanchev (Stumpy) /Guitars/ the founder and leader of my other band Wartime and Viktor Krastev /Bass/ who is one of the moderators of Bulgaria’s most popular forum for musicians Muzikant.org.
