Originally formed in mid 2010 in Annie's back garden and flat under the title The Crowman and Lady Ann. The Crowman being a character in Laurence's novel and Lady Ann after Ann Houselander but Laurence had started to include Ann in his book as the character the Lady Ann, the band was built on the idea of their adventures. Previously Laurence had been in a punk band in the 80's called X3relief who supported signed prog rock band Twelfth Night at The Windsor Castle pub. They also played Reading venues such as The Target and Cherries Wine bar. However after a few gigs the band split because of musical differences. In 2009 Laurence met Annie at an art event, they got talking and found they had much in common being both very experimentally creative people.

Previously Annie had appeared as guest vocals on Terry Barrett's Tibetan Dreams album which had been professionally produced in order to raise money for Tibetan Refugees which went on to sell 100 copies and raised £500. Some years later she was attending and performing her poetry and songs at local art events such as Whitley Arts Festival at The Retreat, Art Junction at The Global Cafe, Band tribute nights at The Rising Sun Arts Centre and many open mics across Reading with Brian Day, Dave King and friend and fellow musician Mark Allen Barnes. Then in August 2009 she performed at the Led Zeppelins Tribute Night held at the Rising Sun Arts Centre with Boot Led Zeppelins Guitarist Raff where they sang 'Tangerine' and then she also performed a song with Raff on his set at The Global Cafe.

In August 2010 Annie and Laurence performed Dragonfly for the Fleetwood Mac tribute Night under the new band name of Annie and The Crowman as The Crowman and Lady Ann was considered too long. (Annie is Ann's nickname which she generally uses). The name stuck and as they say the rest is history.

In June 2011 they released their first Cd Album 'Moon Music and Dreams' which had 8 tracks on it. It was remastered to include a bonus track. In August they started working on an album called Daisy Chains & Bluebells & Songs named after one of the songs it was decided to postpone releasing it as more work needed doing on it. In September 2011 They started work on 'The Love Keepers' album completing it in Nov2011

Currently they are working on their 3rd album 'In Other World's' and also another album titled 'These things are sent to try us'.They continue to perform at open mic's and hope to gig soon.
