Anna Lena & the Orchids is an ambient/experimental band drawing influences from Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Björk and other similar acts. The band was started in Liverpool by Anna Lena and fellow students at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in 2009. Anna Lena is known for a unique voice in the Scandinavian tradition, and the Orchids is a highly skilled band adding beautiful arrangements to her distinctive melody lines. The result is a great live band who's played numerous concerts in the North-West and London

In 2010 Anna Lena and the Orchids played the Scandinavian music industry event By:Larm in Oslo Norway. 2011 they were picked to play at Liverpool Sound City, and Slottsfjell Festival in Norway.
