Anna is a Scottish composer, currently studying for a Masters degree in Musicology at the University of Edinburgh. Anna was awarded a Bachelor of Music in Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2012. During her studies at the Conservatoire, she studied with Rory Boyle, David Fennessy and Gordon McPherson. She has had several pieces performed in the annual PLUG festival of new contemporary music, and has received excellent reviews from Michael Tumelty in The Herald, most notably with “Die Nachtblume”, which he described as “a superb little song” and “out of the box”.
In 2009, Anna composed the incidental music for The Seagull, a highly successful production by the RSAMD Acting Department, which was performed in Glasgow, before going on tour to York Theatre Royal in April 2010. She has also composed incidental music for the play Deathmatch, performed in 2006 at the Edinburgh Fringe, and has scored music for two short films, A Breakup Story and Paperskin (directed by students on the DFTV course at the RSAMD).
