A epic journey of a track that merges diverse sounds effortlessly, Andrew Bayer’s “Counting The Points” is the first single to be taken from the innovative artist’s debut album “It’s Artificial” – described by DJ Magazine as “truly progressive… an outright winner” in a recent review.

Taking its inspiration from the “counterpoint” principle in music theory, “Counting The Points” is a beautifully schizophrenic glide through Bayer’s maverick musical imagination – joining the dots between Boards Of Canada, Deadmau5 and Steve Reich.

Seamlessly segueing Bayer’s influences from IDM and ambient glitch with a more groove-driven electro sound, “Counting The Points” builds towards a climbing crescendo of uplifting ambient melodies – before hitting back with a suckerpunch of warped bass plunges and bleep melodies.

A fellow former student of the renowned Berklee College Of Music, Matt Lange then repays the favour for Andrew Bayer’s masterful remix of his “Rift” track earlier in the year. Smoothing the track out, Lange’s “Counting The Points” remix takes things down an intricate, chilled-house route with a beautiful piano melody at its centerpiece.

Also available is Bayer’s own more Club focused mix, which has been a staple of Above & Beyond’s recent sets.
