Angus Powell is a unique voice in the UK music scene.

Sharing his time between homes in Wales and London, Angus lives and breathes song writing, recording, and performing.

Inspired at a young age by artists such as Tracey Chapman and the acoustic work of bands including Nirvana, Angus Powell has developed his particular style over a number of years. Hugely multi-textural in their construction, but with a misleadingly simple feel, Powell’s tracks contain imagery that every listener can relate to in a personal way. His songs ‘connect’ in a rare, moving, and precious way.

His debut EP “Monsters” is the result of an intensely focussed writing and self -recording period in Wales. Using basic equipment and recording in various rooms around his house and in nearby fields and hillsides – Angus doesn’t allow technology to interfere with his recording and production process, ideas are laid down as soon as they form resulting in a freshness and fragility which is clearly apparent in the completed track.

In a very deliberate move the EP was mixed in a state of the art studio in London’s Soho – the alchemy of combining the simplicity of the recordings with the complexity of the mixing process help to create the magical sonic results you hear on the release.

Angus has received airplay on BBC Radio across the UK.

His tracks have been critically acclaimed and there is much anticipation for his upcoming album, which is nearing completion and is set for release in the first quarter of 2013.
