Wow, I'm really loving the atmosphere in this. It's simultaneously relaxing and haunting, and I love that. In terms of mixing, it's a bit muddy in the mid range, but otherwise it's really good. Great job!

Very very interesting. I got matched up with you through ListenPledge. You have a lovely timbre and quite a lovely and honest tone to your voice, that is extremely complemented by the shine of the Fender electric guitar. The acoustic guitar keeps the rhythm of the otherwise "static" tune rolling forward. Not that the song was boring, I was expecting a build up, or to go somewhere... I'd like to hear this song on the context of it's greater work, whether LP or EP. Live this song is your opener or smack in the middle set... No, this song is played right before a bigger number right???

Again, I'm not sure of the context of the song at all, whether you play with a full band, or if this is done just acoustically, and for the recording you wanted to take advantage of the recording studio and add more guitars, vocal FX... .Btw, I love the frequency modulation on your voice in the second verse. Beautiful. I'd love to hear more of your music, I'll make sure to subscribe. Cheers angiovia

It really is eerily relaxing. It reminds me of old psychedelic 70's music.

@prplhed: that is a problem we initially ran into. However, we are in the process of buying the necessary equipment (looping stations, vocal processors etc) to figure it out. We may have to downsize a little bit, but it's definitely possible! :)

Not sure, but I think I've reviewed this before. Good song, by the way.

This is haunting and amazing. Love the lyrics, has great progression. As someone who doesn't generally write music of this genre, I can't really say much else, but it's a great song nonetheless.

The whole song sounds good, though I'm new to learning how to critique other people's mixing jobs.

Very smooth. I apologize for comparing your sound to something, as it's not that it sounds that way, but it feels to me a similar direction; The XX. Gave me that feel, plus other downtempo/triphop stuff I actually dig. I will be following you, I enjoy your work.

Mix wise, I dug it. The guitar sounds like it needs less low end, some of the chords between the bass/guitar get a bit lost sometimes due to the EQ buildup. The vocals sound really nice, I might suggest automating some of the vocal effects so they develop with the song instead of being static throughout. One listener commented that he didn't like the feedback, I have to say I do, it feels very haunting and sexy, like the rest of the mood of this piece (for me atleast).

Compositionally, pretty solid. I didn't feel it was monotonous, there was contrasting material I felt was nice, the form felt complete from my perspective. I feel you guys pull off your sound, it that makes sense. Good work!

Immediately I notice that the feedback is noticeably... it doesn't really fit in as well as it should. Echo is good, but a bit strange for the song... The harmonies aren't really blending that well.

Seems pretty minimalist by a lot of standards, but that's not necessarily bad either. I suppose this is suppose to be a more downbeat type of song, and I have no problems with that either... most of it is concerning the technical side of things... like I'm not sure if you're having issues with phasing or if the chords you're using are not work together as well as they should...

Overall, I say that you should work on it a bit more and see if you can improve upon the few issues that I state... also I forgot to mention the voice, and it really fit, so I have no problems with that. Just work on the reverb with the guitar, and maybe work on the harmonies a bit more, and you should have yourself a solid song :).

i enjoy the ghostly vocal effects in the background throughout the song. the tremolo is simply beautiful as well. it sounds like there is only one guitar with a few overdubs, creating a pleasantly minimal atmosphere.

I love the feel of this song, the vocals lend themselves really to it. It might be the particular set of headphones I'm listening on (not very faithful), but it feels kind of light around the center of the mix. I'll try to listen on better headphones as soon as I get home and give you a little better feedback. Love the song though!

How the fuck does this not have more plays? Do you have vocal stems available?
