About

Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, Andy James was inspired by earlier electronic groups like Kraftwerk, New Order, Depeche Mode, Meat Beat Manifesto, Orbital, 808 State, and Underworld. He started to spin records and go to parties regularly in 1998. Andy has rocked dancefloors all over the United States with his brand of bangin' techno beats. Some of the DJs/Producers he has played alongside are Richie Hawtin, Barem, Dan Bell, John Tejada, 3 Channels, Ryan Crosson, Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss, Someone Else, Damian Lazarus, Shawn Rudiman, Dan Curtin, and Stacey Pullen amongst others. Definitely not stranger to the mixtape/cd, Andy has recorded 20+ mixes that you can usually find archived around the global techno community via the internet. Also a self-confessed studio junkie, Andy has been known to lock himself in his bedroom studio for days meticulously working on a single loop or track. Groovy, hypnotic, dynamic, floor-shaking, and always rhythmic are the best words to describe his sound. Andy's first release came in October 2007 on Ohio net-label Tek-Know? Since then he released a four track EP on Argentinian net-label Miniatura and most recently he did a remix for Oliver Dodd on Chicago label Klectik. Be on the lookout for releases on Noise Complaint Records, Khombat, & SweetDrop Digital in 2012.
