As a Musician
I began taking saxophone lessons at the age of twelve and was performing in bands soon after. Dad was into Led Zeppelin and Mum loved Bob Marley so my musical tastes developed from there. I’ve always maintained an open minded ear, delighting in the discovery of new bands, new voices and new styles, and the journey just keeps getting deeper and deeper.
Since graduating from University in 2009 I’ve toured the UK extensively in various outfits and supported such high profile acts as Dub Pistols, Pendulum and Acoustic Ladyland. I’ve featured on numerous recordings and released a number of solo albums. 2012 will see the latest release from Edenheight on London based funk label Breakin’ Bread.
Making music for me all boils down to the moment on stage when you’re tuned in with the band and your audience to create a higher energy. Currently I’m very excited about writing for my latest project Nommo, which aims to celebrate a collective experience of sound and rhythm.
As an Artist
In 2005 I studied at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design. This informed my current practice which is widely varied in approach, but contains underlying themes of the human form and the nature of duality. Often satirical and influenced by the bold imagery and colour schemes of comic books, I like to combine my art with text.
I’ve had photography featured in Artists and Illustrators Magazine and collaborated with sculptor Ben Dearnley on a series of works for the London 2012 Olympics. My posters and illustrations can be seen all over the Bristol music scene and I’ve been commissioned as a visual designer for many local projects.
