About
Niclas P. Andersson was early in his life hooked on dancefloor driven house music. It started of with the more progressive tribal sound from Barcelona. Later on, as he himself started to learn the basic skills of DJ:ing on his two Technics 1210:s, he ventured towards deep house and the darker, more minimal side of techno.
He has played under several names before, but today he is known as DJ Anderzon, or just "The eel" (Ålen in Swedish) :-). Do not ask why, but he got that nickname as a teenager. Today he has been DJ:ing both all over Sweden and at several clubs around the globe. Anderzon is famous for both understanding how to connect with the crowd on the floor, shake them around, and make them dance like hell to sounds they never ever even thought of listening to. The worst thing to here, according to him, is when someone says:
- Hey, it is not how you mix your music, even if you mix it really bad, it is the music that is the key!
Well, tell that to A-Trak or Richie Hawtin. A DJ, according to Anderzon, do play the right music AND mixes it well. If that was not the case, then why have a DJ? Then you can have a fucking jukebox were the audience could choose the music they like themselfs.
Today DJ Anderzon is part of Playmobil Soundsystem and have played for KLANGEXTASE.DE. He runs his own club in Gothenburg were a more energetic tech house hooks up with minimalistic techno. He always brings a live muscican to the club, and it has been a great succes since the start at Yaki-Da Night Club. He is working as a photographer and freelance writer.
He is wide in his range of "electronic dance music" and plays everything from slow, deep house at small bars to darker techno at clubs. It is the venue, the club, the bar and the crowd that decides what path to start on.
