About

An American Chinese is a 7-piece indie rock band featuring raw acoustic guitars, analog synthesizers, and odd pop melodies. Recording at our own studio in Philadelphia, we have created a unique take on psych rock/indie folk and backwards pop.Playing live for the past two years we have played the CMJ showcase in NYin 2007 and 2008.We have shared the stage with bands Los Campesinos, Tickley Feather, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, and Doug Gillard. With the the release of our debut EP "Panic Pilgrim" in 2007 we gained considerable momentum in the Philadelphia music scene. Now self releasing our first full length album titled "Utopian Tree"this summer we are excited to watch that momentum continue to expand.Listen to tracks from the new LP in the music section of our website or myspace and/or bandcamp.
