“Her tracks, juxtapose an emotional and fragile vocal delivery with raw electronic sound. Buzzing reverbed beats sit over piano chords and Ana’s haunting voice” MIX MAG, U.K.
Ana Lola Roman is a multi-faceted persona for sure. The New York via Berlin songstress is a woman of many talents; simultaneously a sound designer, a choreographer, a multi-instrumentalist and a highly skilled composer. Her influences are just as diverse; she cites an eclectic combination of flamenco, tango, 80s pop, Sheffield synthpop and industrial as being definitive to her sound.
Working alongside notable producer Jean Luc Sinclair (Nine Inch Nails, Scissor Sisters, Roman presents her latest single ‘No Architect’ (released Oct 2011), a synth-driven song tackling the idea of breaking free from a synthetic, dystopian existence, portrayed with a surprisingly upbeat tone. ‘No Architect’ is an ultimately uplifting affair, the four-to-the-floor beats coalescing with the pounding synth melodies and Roman’s defiant vocals, scorning a former beau preventing her freedom.
Roman’s releases represent a constantly evolving talent for combining avant-garde icyness with the art of subtly composing memorable moments of intelligent pop, each single refining and focusing her unique sound a little more towards what could very well be her magnum opus, a debut album set for release in early 2012.
Ana is currently midway through intensive recording sessions for her upcoming debut and will be resuming live performances shortly, keep your ear to the ground and you’ll surely hear her coming a mile off. In the meantime, ‘No Architect’ will be available November 7, 2011.

I love the electronic euro pop sounds I like the way she resolves everything by descending and repeating phrases on the same mid level and announcing it higher. and then it descends again only to repeat itself on a mid level. I like the vocals alot as well. very waspy they kinda sting its kinda 1920s kinda souxsie and kate bush and then kinda debbie in the way the phrases descend two to three times in a row rather than ascending ala cautious lip. I almost want to compare her to nina hagen but not yet.
