Author, composer, and singer, Anaelia performs with her band “Sahar” (moon crescent) original compositions on ancient and original Hebrew texts, reflecting her experiences and inner journey, as well as traditional songs in Ladino and in Yiddish. From Spain to the island of Rhodes through Italy, Egypt, Turkey,Poland and Russia, Anaelia was born in France with multiple roots.
Singing in harmony was an inherent part of her family life growing up. French songs were integral part of her childhood. Greatly inspired by the Beatles she grew up opening herself to classical and world music until she discovered Jewish prayer which invites her to a new path. In January 2000, her continual vocal quest leads her from Paris to the heart of Jerusalem. Since then, inspired by Hebrew letters and their ancestral vibrations, she waves a unique repertoire, influenced by her multiple cultural background : African and Moroccan beats, resonances of the shtetl, jazz and blues. She had the great privilege to be vocally coached by the opera singer, musical and choir director Judi Axelrod.
Beside her musical activity and mothering Anaelia is now working on her first album and leads workshops on how to discover the simplicity, the pleasure and the joy of singing : how to let the body and the soul sing in harmony.
