About
From International to Universal : from Spain to the island of Rhodes through Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Poland and Russia, Anaëlia was born in France with multiple roots. From her father, she inherits a love of poetry and writing. From her grandmother she learns music theory. Singing in harmony was an inherent part of her family life growing up.
French songs were integral part of her childhood. Greatly inspired by the Beatles she grew up opening herself to jazz, blues, classical and world music, until she discovers Jewish prayer which leads her to her new path.
Back to her roots, she moved to israel in January 2000.
" When I sing in Hebrew, I unearth a new dimension to my voice. More expansive, it reaches its deepest source. My voice andmy path become one.”
She composes her own melodies, inspired by Hebrew letters and their ancestral vibrations and is now working on her first album, coached by the opera singer and choir conductor, Judi Axelrod.
Today she lives in the heart ot Jerusalem and beside working on being a spouse and mum, she writes, composes, arranges, and performs original songs and melodies, along with Hebrew, Yiddish and Ladino traditional texts. Her voice explores jazz and blues notes and loves to play with African tonalities.
She also gives workshops on how to discover the simplicity, the pleasure and the joy of singing: how to let the body and the soul sing in harmony.
