Amy has been writing and performing music for over 20 years, exploring a variety of instruments - guitar, voice, ukulele, bass guitar, organ, flute, and African drums, in just as many styles – rock/pop, jazz, folk, alt. country, alt. pop and anti-folk. Heavily influenced from 7 years living in the UK, Amy returned to Melbourne in 2007 and formed alt. pop band ‘The Love Bites’, following closely behind ukulele-casio-twee-pop band ‘The Sweethearts’ (UK). 2009 saw Amy win the APRA Open award at the Darebin Music Feast Songwriter’s Awards, with her song Hill’s Hoist, followed by an appearance, ukulele in tow, on PBS’ Homebrew with Maddy Mac. In 2011, Amy is recording her debut EP trilogy Spare Parts - a cauldron of synthpop, folk and alt country, laden with ukulele-infused jangle, catchy melodic hooks, lyrical escapades, and nods to the likes of The Magnetic Fields, Eels, Kathryn Williams, Grandaddy, Elliot Smith and Bachelorette. Amy’s songs cross boundaries in style, genre and sentiment, from comic references to everyday situations, to thoughtful musings, offering an insight into her own personal experiences, thoughts and ideas. In February 2011, Amy released synth-pop gem Too Drunk To Kiss (available on iTunes), with the first EP due for release in late 2011.

In addition to songwriting and performing, Amy composes music for film, TV and games. She is currently working on the music and sound design for an iPhone game in development, Super Munch Time, produced by Slipstream Studios in Melbourne, and has two short films to her credit.

Amy also teaches piano/keyboards from her home studio and around Melbourne, and enjoys helping children (and adults) discover and explore the creativity and wonder of music.
