Thorn is an electronic artist born as Roel Hoogendoorn (1987) in the Netherlands.
He has been an active Dj/Producer since the age of 15, releasing his first record in 2005 on Deep Focus under the alias Roel H.

In his youth he got in touch with a wide range of music through his family. And most importantly, a whole lot of music.
Inspired by the guitar playing of his father he started taking lessons himself at the age of 11. While developing in his
instrument and listening to all types of artists, he discovered that most of his musical interest went to artists that
tried to constantly bring something new and fresh. Which lead him into the world of electronic music.

After exploring the genre for a while, he soon turned to producing himself. Familiarizing himself with all the programs and
techniques, by loads of experimenting and skipping school. He found himself a year later (2005) bringing out his first EP on
Deep Focus. A string of releases followed, with 'Dancing Bears' (2008) being the last succes of his 'Roel H' period.

Then a few years of silence follow in the dance scene. Experimenting in all kinds of genre's and even starting a pop band
called 'Audioknights' with his best friend. He is now ready for a new adventure in the electronic world.

For that, Thorn has been brought to life. Housing all of the fresh idea's made in the past years. Thorn's music harvests a
deep emotional layer into the electronic dancefloor grooves. Making it not only suitable for the dancefloor but also to have
a closer listen outside of the clubs. He will always try to bring a new concept or combination to the table, never recycling
what he has done before. His sound is a mixture of warm melody lines and tight drum patterns put into story telling
arrangements which can lead anywhere.

A series of releases for 2012 is in planning, as well as bringing the final touches to his live act to have a smashing
