About

“Music Expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent” - Victor Hugo
Amine was born in Casablanca Morocco, where he spent his child hood listening to Oriental/traditional moroccan music, and the occasional french top 40. At the age of 6 he moved to Malaysia for 4 years during which he learned to speak english and was introduced to what is now his biggest influence and all time favourite band: the Red Hot Chili Peppers! Only once in Australia, at the Age of 15 did the Idea of spinning other artist’s records for his friends to enjoy sound appealing to him. Amine then acquired some Stanton CDJs and Turntables, and started teaching himself, with the help of youtube. After a year of practicing messing around, fiddling with a few buttons a knobs, Love was in the air. Amine mastered the art of mixing, and took his first step in the world of composers and producers with his release of Cherry, a remix he had made of Ratatat which spread across the internet faster than he could have hoped for.
2012 was a big year for him. Things had moved faster than he thought they would. After the successful response from Cherry, the countless house parties and underage events in 2011 and a great helping hand from the now No6 best EDM duo in Australia, Peking Duk, Amine was offered his first Club Gig, supporting a huge name in the EDM world, Sam la More, quickly followed by Residency at Trinity Bar (Voted no1 Club in the ACT – ITM awards 2011 & 2012) and a regular headline show. Amine was now integrated in the australian Club Scene and a professional level of music production.
2013 is looking to be a good year for Amine as there are many unreleased and upcoming records and even an EP (Paramount) followed by a debut Album (Douceur & Resistance). Working with a great community of DJs, Producers, Engineers, Artists and promoters alike, there is room for improvement to say the least. Collaborations with Malozan (Melb) an Experimental Dance and Hiphop producer // Remixes of SAFIA, Magnifik and Steve Angello // Support from Peking Duk, Offtapia and blogs like EarMilk, BugsLife & PartyByJake… a bit of ambition and luck is all you need.
Keep an Eye out this year, you never know what might come of it!
