Biography

Alter ego name Ambient Shane real name Shane Piper. Shane was born in Bude north Cornwall but grew up in South Devon England and was always fond of records and tapes from a very young age, in those days Shane was mostly listening to dark wave music from the early eighties, bands such as Depeche Mode and Gary Newman which he continues to listen to today. In 1990 Shane's ambient adventure started when he was introduced to the KLF Chillout album and the Orbs adventures beyond the ultraworld Those two albums changed shanes life Shane moved to Totnes in Devon in late 1994 with lots of records and started playing chillout music at small parties and gatherings on Dartmoor, it was from this time that people started to call him Ambient Shane and it has stuck ever since. Over the years Shane has moved his sound to more complex ambient electronica and really enjoys being sent music by various artists on Myspace which he then mixes and shares with others- see his soundcloud.In march 2010 shane was invited to the Future sound of exeter PhonicFM HQ by ambient ace paul giblin to broadcast a live two hour radio show and tell the twenty year ORB storie that included a live phone interview with the man himself Dr LX paterson ,all the glitchs with that live broadcast made it all the better , paul said to shane "we have been orb,d Shane has played at nights such as Twisted Toadstool and the legendary Tribe of Frog nights in Bristol . Recently Shane moved to a sleepy rural area of somerset far away from the Big bad city and the bright lights to concentrate and focus on his muzic .

From Jan 2011 shane splashed out and got himself ableton live 8 and A.PC40 and other bits and bobs and started producing his own music and sounds ,this he calls phase 2 of ambient shane as an artist rather than a DJ playing other peoples music
