Lookout: A Stone Tower Sound Clash

This sound piece was inspired by a fall hike to Stone Tower in Lynn Woods. Inside the tower I recorded the sounds of the metallic spiral staircase, an acorn falling down the staircase, and my own voice. Once I exited the tower I started sequencing these sounds on my phone as I sat at the base an admired the surroundings.

In my studio I further processed these sounds to create a soundtrack for all of us who have made this same journey to the Tower. Some themes that toned this piece were breath, ascent, descent, wildlife, diversity, vision, conversation, and pulse

In addition to the recorded sounds of the tower, contemporary sounds and rhythms were added to represent a new era of discovery and diversity for the city where this Tower stands.
