Amarou, or Jan Francisco, as he’s known to his friends, is an up and coming house producer from a small town called Lund in southern Sweden. At the age of six, his mother took him to a public music school to get him to start playing an instrument. After trying a couple of different instruments he was sure that his choice would be the piano. Without knowing, he had taken his first step into becoming a producer. During the years leading up to this, he played a lot of pop and classical music.
When he turned 17 he discovered FLstudio & Propellerhead's Reason and with that, a way to create music digitally and play around with the music on a new level with different instruments and sounds the piano was limiting him from. This new playfulness he found in music combined with the boom of house turned his love for playing music into a passion for producing it.
Now, at 21 years of age, his weapon of choice is Avid's Pro Tools 10 as he feels it makes it easier for him to edit, mix and master his tracks for a better all-around workflow. He mostly produces progressive house with the occasional heavy-bass tracks. As he hasn’t been producing for long, he doesn’t have any big signed releases under his belt, but he believes that this is about to change soon.
