About

Dubwize and Ragga Drum N’ Bass are the trademark sounds of Amadeus. Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, he moved to the US in ’97 where he started DJ’ing in ’98 and rose up playing clubs and raves all over Colorado during his college days. His second mix CD “Midsummer Night Sessions” (2001) was praised by BPM Magazine: “The music is sooo fine! Drum and Bass bliss. Props for not being the typical band wagon monkey. If this guy is in your neighborhood give him some props!” (Feb ’01 issue), and garnered him runner-up in the North-American DJ contest: ”Unleash the Beats” (out of over 1000 submissions!). Living in Brooklyn for the past 9 years, he travels to perform throughout the US, Canada as well as Europe, where he has completed 7 annual tours so far, which have taken him to Germany, Belgium, France, Romania, Holland, Austria, Czech Republic and as far as the Ukraine. Not only active behind the decks he hosted the monthly “King City Sundays” for 3 years in Manhattan and was the mind behind “Survival Story – The Ragga Jungle Compilation”, a double CD of previously unreleased Ragga Jungle tunes from producers worldwide, which became a runaway success. It had a massive impact on the scene, and put a lot of Ragga Jungle producers, still active today, on the map. It’s his mixes that have really made the greatest impact though, having introduced countless people to the sounds of ragga dnb, dubwize &jungle due to their careful selection and highly precise mixing, spreading across the globe via the web and getting consistently high numbers of downloads. Over the past 14 years, Amadeus has stayed the course, and released and his Brooklyn Dubwize EP last year with more releases in the near future. Known for highly energetic performances, Amadeus skillfully blends dubwize, ragga dnb and ragga jungle in his sets. Always comin’ correct with loads of unreleased dubplates from international producers, his unique sound is defined by versatility and crowd interaction, inciting great respect and overall dancehall madness.
