An improvisation recorded on March 21 2011. The track is one take of a Cort Curbow 6 string bass through an MXR M82 envelope filter and an old Boss RC20 Loop Station, recorded direct into reaper on my laptop.

The layered loops overloaded my poor laptop so apologies for the distortion towards the end.

This track is dedicated to Matt Stevens and Steve Lawson, two of the finest looping musicians in the UK today.

@Rhysbass: It's certainly the first live looped bass piece. The only other thing was "Elegy" on Kindness of Strangers which has a guitar loop but that wasn't recorded live. So yes :)

@gibheuett: Cool story :) He was a very clever man, it's a great bass to play even if it is a licenced copy. One day I might find a real one!

Very cool Alun! Nice job! Interesting you mention playing on the Cort Curbow bass. I had the great fortune to meet and play in a band with Greg Curbow in the early 80s in Atlanta. He was a super nice guy - very talented and obviously went on to do great things with designing and building bass guitars. The best part though was one night I pulled out my guitar which was a modified 60s Gretsch Corvette electric that I purchased from a guitar repair shop in Decatur, Ga. Greg lit up and identified that he worked on the guitar when he was at the shop - cut the pickguard and everything. He is missed! Sorry for the long wind!

Very nice matey. I like the envelope filter sound, I've just bought a Bassballs and jolly nice it is too.
