Alto J has been playing around with all types of music for a very long time. His favourites including house, dance, techno and anything with a good beat. He lives in Melbourne Australia, where he spends most of his time making tunes and mixes in his studio.
After just taking to the decks and making a few different mixes here and there in 2005-2006 this wasn't enough. He then started to take his music career more seriously when he started making bootlegs of different dance tracks around 2006-2007. He had a lot of success with his bootleg "king be good to me" which featured in the top 10 of the Australian Bootleg Club Charts (ABCC) in 2007. Also, as he saw uplifting reactions when playing other various bootlegs of his on the dancefloor, he then decided to take it to the next level.
Alto J then decided to make mix compilations featuring various different bootlegs of his own and other dance tracks from all around the globe. His compilations titled "Electrovox" kept Alto J busy for at least two years, Electrovox Vol 1 - Jan 2006 started the compilations, and they kept coming each month until July 2008, where they slowed because of Alto J's new found love of producing.
2009 came and In the studio Alto J was playing around with a lot of different sounds, samples and vocal cuts. He decided to put all this into use, coming up with a few different tracks and remixes of his own here and there. In May 2009 came the first serious track, "Take your mind there" ft Giulietta. A deep dance track that featured deep beats, and some mind blowing vocals from the talented Giulietta. This track has had a positive reaction on the dance floor and has inspired Alto J to continue on the production track.
After he spent his 2009 summer in Ibiza and across Europe, he has come back to the studio very inspired with many ideas and plans for new music in 2010-2011, and beyond. Be sure to stayed tuned for new tracks and mixes.
