Juno Download review:
Fresh from France, Southern Fried's latest starlet Alphaat follows up his numerical release with a sprightly six tracker that weaves and bobs its way through house, tech, electro and downtempo vibes with both humour and a serious jacking sensibility. "Spartacus" is a stand out for us; coming at you like an old DJ Pierre record remixed by Boys Noize, there's no mistaking the devious dancefloor intent. Elsewhere we see him dropping the tempo a notch and giving a sly nod on "Ares", a track that gives a sly nod to his fellow French artists with quirky little filtered touches. "Aether" sees him drop the tempo again for a beautiful headphones, warm up or backroom joint. Lovely stuff.
