Since its launch in late 2009, Romania’s All Inn Records has gone from strength to strength, picking up a mass of big name DJ support, for its quality, understated house and techno releases. Alongside the main label, the team also run the immaculately dressed, All Inn Black. The newest member of the family ‘Black’, follows a tougher, more tech-lead sound and, keeping true to its roots, the label releases on vinyl only, and in very limited numbers. Collectors items.
With its releases gracing wax, Black concentrates on warm, tough and heavy sounds. Its May debut saw Romanian artist Case Sensitive take center stage. Today we look to Italy and welcome the riding talents that Giovanni Verrina and Ory J aka, Sailor Mood.
For the past 12 years, Verrina has been a guiding light in the Genoa club scene. 2001 saw him take up the residency of the newly opened Club 74. Now known as Zerodieci, Giovanni continues to rule the DJ booth, sharing with regular big name guests.
Ory J has also been a slave to the turn-tables since the early ’90′s. His first forays into production came in 2007, with the publication of his first EP on Berlin based label Autist Records. With the 2008 launch of Costreet Records, Ory J became a label owner himself.
With a shared passion for exploring the the underground sounds of many continents, and with the use of Giovanni’s wonderful analog studio, where the 808 and 303 hold court, the duo have worked, moulded, carved and created two delicious cuts in, “Correspondance” and “Harlequin”. Both tracks, perfectly harness the guys love of the raw, yet soulful sounds that won their hearts upon their first contact with Chicago house releases.
