Allied Mastercomputer (name taken from Harlan Ellison's short story "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream") is the ongoing electronic audio project of Alex Minott, who has been experimenting with drum machines, effects devices, samplers, turntables and so forth for many years. Using borrowed 4-tracks and stomp boxes, Alex shocked and appalled friends, relations and unsuspecting passers-by with blaring screechy noises, clattering and sludgy, rumbling beats. Since moving to Brooklyn in 1999, he has been slowly amassing a small arsenal of instruments of his own for improved blaring, clattering and rumbling. Alex has also played drums and keys in the band Bathysphere, and likes to play records - occasionally for other people. Alex should theoretically be an artist, and is the manager of The Evolution Store.
