The pendulum has swung back the other way. From the dizzying drops and bombastic bass, a palpable shift has turned followers of bass culture around 180 degrees. The West Coast is echoing with the spiritual sounds of psy-step, and the movement has made its way to the East. Aligning Minds, based in the Atlantic Seaboard, have wrapped up the emotive elements of downtempo and IDM in the low end stew of dubstep. Hearkening back to its minimal roots, "Satsang Orchard" is a bubbling epic of stark soundscapes and introspection. Michael Folk and Daniel Vibeage have crafted a tender ode to the inner self. Perfect for late nights, sunrise sets, or long car rides, this cut is going to blast off when it hits the live scene.
