Alien Syndrome Deluxe is an ongoing musical project that began in 1986, or thereabouts, and has gone through a number of radical transformations (excluding lobotomies) that have lead to it's present sonic reconstruction, which now includes the melodic, harmonic, rhythmic use of software synthesis as well as hardware to make it's music. The goal here is, has been, always will be, to retain a chronic connection with early inspirational influences, and to boldly go wherethe freshness of the fresh can be found, usually deep inside the personal muse of the free radical beingness (my, doesn't that sound deep) floating around within the unlobotomized central apple core of the memory banks where all the little neurons are happily dancing, sans prozak, melodically suspended in a voltage controlled DNA rhythmical mindstorm.
Influences are: Tangerine Dream, Stockhausen, Kraftwerk, King Crimson, Pnik Ployd, Popol Vuh, Jean Michelle Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Kevin Ayres, Peter Hammil (Van Der Graff Generator), Isao Tomita, Ray Lynch, Kitaro, The Nice, Brian Davison, Yello, Peter Gabriel, Miles Davis, John Cage, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Gong, and numerous others.
Sometimes serious, but often laced with a tadpole of humour, or , in some creations, a lot of it, Alien Syndrome Deluxe moves on to exceed itself, as in yet another musical excess. Pleasure, as well as sensory overload, is derived, not only from the making of musical appetizers of it's own, but from the listening of what others are also doing. So, when not out performing itself, the Alien within is out there, tripping through all the known cafes in the galaxy, looking for good music to listen to.
