About

Alice’s songs concern anything from loss to love, and fairies to friends. Her comical views of such matters are expressed with a heart warming innocence and honesty that all can relate to.
A small girl with a big ambition, a voice, a guitar, and a sense of humour. Alice began teaching herself guitar in April 2009 - after several futile attempts at forming a band she took matters into her own hands! By September she was eager to perform her songs to others and secured her first gig at Basement Bar, York. Reactions were amazing; the audience left still humming her songs even though she was the first act.
Just weeks after her first gig, Alice was invited to record a session for BBC Introducing York, impressing them with her unique ideas and melodies, which was aired in November 2009. As if this wasn’t exciting enough already, the BBC then invited Alice to join in busking for Children in Need at York Station – asking her to do a live interview and song for the radio station – on air twice in the space of two weeks! All the while Alice was gigging and generating interest in her quirky music (and trying to improve her guitar playing as fast as she could!).
Come January Alice found herself auditioning for ‘Live and Unsigned’ 2010, a competition to win a record deal with Future Music, beating off stiff competition she had reached the Area Finals by May.
Having played with the likes of Alessi’s Ark, Rachael Dadd and Benjamin Leftwich and been introduced by Tom Robinson in February 2011, there is no doubt that Alice’s individuality is infectious. As she carries on her quest to find a backing band and self release an EP, who would have thought her ambition would have grown so big from an acapella performance of ‘Bread and Fishes’ in a village hall, aged only eight years old.
