Psychedelic Techno - Nowadays quite a buzzword, since more and more Psy and Progressive Trance producers came up with a technoish side project. Yet the actual idea of Psychedelic Techno goes back further, and differs from the somewhat slow and clubby approach of many recent productions: Around 2000, acts like Spirallianz and Midi Miliz (today known as Extrawelt) or X-Dream merged deep and psychedelic sounds into hard, pumping Techno rhythms. Although this genre never became mainstream, it never vanished- which brings us to Alic.
Since 2002, Alic keep up the original idea of Psychedelic Techno. In form of their passionate studio and live project, in form of their popular netlabel Digital Diamonds, and in form of being A&Rs at Horns & Hoofs Records. All these commitments strive to combine Psy Trance and Techno, but without the drag of getting too clubby or too minimal.
The netlabel Digital Diamonds perfectly represents the attitude of the two Alic dudes: Free, quality music for the global psychedelic community, free not only in terms of revenue but also in terms of the constraints of mainstream production. The releases repeatedly gained great feedback, proving for many people that Trance still has an amazing potential of open-minded innovation- a musical metaphor for a state of mind!
This DJ-Mix is just an small appetizer of the multidimensional soundscapes of Digital Diamonds and Horns And Hoofs tunes!!

This is one of the most interesting mixes I've heard by Alic. Quality sounds, as always, but the atmosphere that is generated is excellent. An extremely good mix!
